I have access to many farms consisting of over 8500 acres in Zone 6. I hunt these farms just as you will and I strive to keep hunting pressure at a minimum to keep all my farms in great hunting condition. If the wind isn't right we don't hunt it. Bucks have been harvested on these farms ranging from the 130s B&C up to the 190s B&C with somebody weights nearing 300 pounds. A limited number of hunters allowed each year. Lock-ons, ladder stands, blinds, and shooting houses are set up in strategically placed well-known whitetail hot spots. However, if you prefer you can bring your own stand. I keep trail cams going from July throughout hunting season to keep an inventory of bucks and their patterns. If a hunt is booked I will send trail cam pics throughout the summer up until your hunt. All farms have minimum antler size restrictions of 140" B&C or 4 plus-year-old bucks. Deer tag application period is first Saturday of May through first Sunday of June. For Iowa, November is our archery season and unless you already have preference points our archery tag is a 3-4 year wait on drawing that tag. My gun hunts are December and January. Those tags are much more easily drawn and can be drawn on the first year about 70% of the time. I also have Missouri hunts available September through November as well. My Missouri hunts operate out of my Iowa lodge as I’m only 12 miles from the IA/MO state line. The MO tags are sold over the counter.
