    Trip Description
    • Whether you are flying or driving, most clients arrive into Saskatoon on Saturday prior to the hunt, and rent a room for the evening. On Sunday, we will pick you up at your hotel at 11AM to start the 2.5 hour drive north to Chitek Lake, where we have a modern lodge with all the comforts of home. This gives our clients a chance to sight in their weapon and relax before the excitement begins! Whitetail deer hunting in Saskatchewan is abundant with wildlife, lakes, streams, and thick forest that consistently produces some of Saskatchewan’s largest Whitetail Deer – heavy bodies and big racks! Muzzleloader, Bow and Crossbow season begins September 1st and ends October 31st. In September the temperatures are around 55°F but starts to cool off towards the end of the month. In October the average temperature is about 45°F and falls below freezing most nights. Rifle season takes place in November. Weather conditions during this time can vary from a pleasant 35°F to a chilly –20°F; therefore, warm winter apparel is a must! Our heated ground blinds will help protect you from the cold, while affording you the visibility needed for your shot. Most of our rifle stands are set for shots from 50 – 150 yards. Mature Saskatchewan bucks are huge-bodied, weighing upwards of 300 pounds, so we suggest rifles of .270 caliber and up. Hunting is done over active baits from strategically placed ground blinds and tree stands. Baits are set to accommodate your choice of weapon. About 90% of our trophies have been taken between 10:00am-2:00pm and we boast an 80% success rate. The average whitetail taken at the camp is 150” B&C, but out clients have harvested many over 170” B&C with our largest taken during rifle season measuring 227″ non-typical B&C.
