For several years, my family and I have enjoyed shrimping weekends on our boat in Southeast Alaska. The best area we have found is 26 miles by boat out of Ketchikan. We fish commercial sized shrimp pots 300-600 feet deep and bring of loads of beautiful cold water spot prawns. We work our string about every 6 hours and enjoy exploring the area in between. We always have an amazing time and bring home 60-100 pounds of of shrimp each trip. Myself and one of my well trained deckhand teenagers would take you out on the boat for a 3 day weekend. This isn't a trip you could easily find as a charter. Trip can include some crabbing and fishing. We almost always see humpback and/or killer whales, seals, sea lions, and bears. Trip could include hunting opportunities for black bear or sitka blacktail deer.
Accommodations
Accommodations would include staying on the boat, bait, all the shrimping gear, ice, coolers, food, paddle boards, kayaks, All you would need to bring is rain gear and a fishing license.
