- I am a registered Alaskan Hunting Guide on Kodiak Island. I offer top quality custom tailored hunts for Kodiak Brown Bear, Mountain Goat, Sitka Blacktail, and Roosevelt Elk. All of which are listed for trade. The Mountain Goat population on Kodiak Island has exploded with a success rate near 100 percent. Mountain Goat season runs from mid-August to late October. Hunts are 7 days. Mountain Goats were introduced to Kodiak in 1952-53. The mountains and climate on Kodiak make the perfect place for the Mountain Goats to flourish. The goat population is at an ALL TIME HIGH and this is the time to take advantage of hunting this trophy of a lifetime. During your goat hunt, a Sitka Blacktail can also be taken on a trophy fee basis. Kodiak Mountain Goat hunts are currently a drawing hunt. The application deadline is in December and the drawing results are published in early February. We will help you take care of all necessary paperwork.
