A buddy and I have prime hunting land for Turkeys and Deer. We've killed many turkeys with 3-5 beards, 12"+ beards, 1 1/4" spurs, etc. High 20 pound weights. Spring is awesome in Iowa and we try to put together days where we kill a turkey, catch crappies, find mushrooms and sheds. It's usually the shed that keeps the quadfecta from happening, but the trifecta happens often. We have lots of opportunity for whitetails too. He lives in Cedar Rapids and I live in the Des Moines area.
Tracy has ground along the Mississippi river and other plots near him in Cedar Rapids. Anyway, we're game to put together just about anything - Tracy and I are more thrilled putting someone on an animal or bird than killing one ourselves. We're seasoned turkey hunters too - Tracy used to rep for Hunters Specialties and for Primos.
We have access to land in Nebraska and Kansas, usually bow hunting in the early spring exclusively. Where we're at in Nebraska, the birds are pretty much crossed between Merriam's and Eastern's. Some of them have nice creamy tail feather portions like a Merriam and others look more like Easterns. They still have a tendency to flock up and roam like Merriam's though. The Kansas birds are Rio's and we've had fun chasing them with our bows.
Never hurts to have hunting buddies in other parts of the country!
Accommodations
We'll figure the best options out. But probably try to put you up in a hotel depending on what hunt and location is used. Easy to make it all happen.
