Chickamauga Lake has become famous for its largemouth bass fishing but its crappie fishing has been a well-kept secret. We specifically like to target crappie from February until early April during the "pre-spawn" period. We prefer a longline trolling technique that is incredibly user-friendly. It is a perfect opportunity for inexperienced anglers or even young children to catch lots of fish - as well as a great time to stock the freezer with tasty crappie fillets. There is a minimum size limit of 10-inches and 15-crappie-per-person creel limit. I provide all fishing tackle and lures. You must possess a valid Tennessee fishing license. I do not clean fish. You are responsible for caring for whatever fish you keep.
Accommodations
Lodging/meals are not included. I recommend visitors review hotels near Interstate 75, Exit #5. There is a very wide selection with lots of restaurants nearby and it is within 15 or 20 minutes of most places I fish. Places to stay on the water are very limited. Island Cove Marina has a motel and a few cabins. Blue Water Resort is excellent but is about 40 or 50 minutes from the areas we routinely fish. I can also provide some other suggested rentals available closer to time.
